Greetings from Johannesburg, South Africa. Although I have a doctorate in psychotherapy, my main passion is advocating for nonhuman animal rights. I condemn all cruelty to nonhuman animals and therefore follow a vegan lifestyle. I would like to connect with other animal activists from all over the world. The fur trade is one of the most abhorrent practices on this planet. Innocent animals are subjected to prolonged suffering for a trivial fashion item. As the chairperson of Fur Free SA. we campaign towards ending the global fur industry. This might not happen in my lifetime, but even if I leave one footprint behind, that is one step closer to the goal. This blog is a forum to discuss all aspects of the fur industry. It also raises issues around animal activism in general. Johannesburg is a crazy city and I need to escape from time to time. This photo was taken next to the magnificent Zambezi river.

The Queen of England has been seen happily wearing real fur. These accessories appear to  be new and not taken from the Queen’s vintage fur collection.

Kate, the next generation of royalty was not only spotted hunting but also sporting a fur hat.

The message given is that wearing fur is a royal thing to do.

However, anyone who cares about how fur items are produced will not find this a noble act.

Reblogged this on Ravens-Tree.com and commented:
I don’t see a fur hat or fur cuffs, I see the pelt of a beautiful innocent sentient being and its poor bloodied dead body thrown aside on a pile with thousands of others. It’s horrendous AAAAGGGHHHH!!!!! These people have no shame, and worse still cannot be oblivious to how fur is farmed and ‘produced’. Heinous industry. But then what else can one expect from those that hold shoots, hunt, support badger culling and suggest selling ponies and horses for consumption gives them a value which will end cruel owners abusing them. Anyone who takes pleasure from hunting and shooting innocent creatures for pleasure …….well, it’s shameful, utterly shameful! And patron of the RSPCA to boot!!

Exactly Ravenskeeper! Wearing fur, for royalty, is just a small part of a mindset of thinking they are superior to other species. Worse is that they condone killing in the name of sport.

I’m not surprised, anyone who supports fox hunting (as most royal and rich do) has no compassion. Very sad.

    Fashion with compassion,

So true, Carmen. Fox hunting is cruel and disgusting and people who do it think it is classy????
    Best wishes,
