Greetings from Johannesburg, South Africa. Although I have a doctorate in psychotherapy, my main passion is advocating for nonhuman animal rights. I condemn all cruelty to nonhuman animals and therefore follow a vegan lifestyle. I would like to connect with other animal activists from all over the world. The fur trade is one of the most abhorrent practices on this planet. Innocent animals are subjected to prolonged suffering for a trivial fashion item. As the chairperson of Fur Free SA. we campaign towards ending the global fur industry. This might not happen in my lifetime, but even if I leave one footprint behind, that is one step closer to the goal. This blog is a forum to discuss all aspects of the fur industry. It also raises issues around animal activism in general. Johannesburg is a crazy city and I need to escape from time to time. This photo was taken next to the magnificent Zambezi river.

I’m sure most of you know the story behind Cecil the lion.

While this was indeed a tragic incident, we must not forget about all the other victims of the blood-lust and desire for domination that drives some humans to kill.

Although most of the world’s fur is supplied from fur farms, trapping of animals for their fur still occurs. Animals die an agonising death and often will chew off their own limbs to escape.

Other creatures also get caught in traps and are then just discarded.

You just need to look at these people’s faces to see their sadistic pleasure in killing other species.

We have to fight this cruelty in every possible way!

  2. The mentality of a killer is exactly the same whether of an animal or a human. A killer of an animal is potentially a killer of a human being. These guys are common murderers / criminals – as simple as that. Sad… so sad.

  6. So horrific!! That there’s so many people like this it is truly disturbing. There is no doubt they are psychopaths and it seems to be being pushed and encouraged in certain quarters. Let’s face it the ones who ‘run’ the world are psychopaths so they will embrace it. They want the spread of violence and power hungry monsters. Great to see so much outrage and know there are people fighting back!!!

I wish every despicable human, (if can call them human) could go through every torture that those poor innocent animals have to go endure before the bastards die! It’s too bad there’s not a real Punisher out there for people like the ones posted above. Some people just don’t need to be on this earth. It’s over populated anyway. Why not get rid of the trash! And by the way, hunting is not a sport. It’s murder. A sport is a competition of some kind, and no animal can compete with a gun. So all you hunters out there, please go shoot yourselves!
