Greetings from Johannesburg, South Africa. Although I have a doctorate in psychotherapy, my main passion is advocating for nonhuman animal rights. I condemn all cruelty to nonhuman animals and therefore follow a vegan lifestyle. I would like to connect with other animal activists from all over the world. The fur trade is one of the most abhorrent practices on this planet. Innocent animals are subjected to prolonged suffering for a trivial fashion item. As the chairperson of Fur Free SA. we campaign towards ending the global fur industry. This might not happen in my lifetime, but even if I leave one footprint behind, that is one step closer to the goal. This blog is a forum to discuss all aspects of the fur industry. It also raises issues around animal activism in general. Johannesburg is a crazy city and I need to escape from time to time. This photo was taken next to the magnificent Zambezi river.

I am always thrilled when a person takes an anti-fur stand.

It is particularly pleasing when someone from the fashion world speaks out against the despicable fur industry.

This is what Sairey Stemp, senior fashion editor of Cosmopolitan (UK), says about the fur trade:

“The fur industry is one of the most barbaric, hideous, cruel and bloody industries. The reason it continues is simply because of money. If people didn’t buy and wear fur, if the fashion industry didn’t use and support it, then it would cease to be a viable commercial industry and the fur farms would close”.sairey stemp

Dedicated to all nonhuman animals who are bred and killed for human greed!

  2. It is great when someone speaks out against the fur industry. It disgusted me that Harrods carries so much fur items- I won’t step foot in there now x

Like most of the awful things in this world that harm animals and indeed people it is all about money, the greed of the few at the expense of the many. So good to know someone in the fashion world has spoken out against this hideous cruelty. Yes fur is an obscenity and should be banned worldwide. I cannot understand why fur is popular again as a couple of decades ago few people would dare wear a fur coat.
